Purpose-built trip planning for horse haulers.

Equitrip brings route planning, overnight barn stops, large-animal vet access, weather context, and compliance documents into one place, designed around the real decisions a hauler makes before and during a trip.

Built by someone who has hauled horses across state lines.

Equitrip started as a personal project to solve a frustration most horse haulers know well: planning a multi-day haul means bouncing between a GPS app, a search engine, a weather app, a Facebook group for barn recommendations, a phone call to check if the overnight facility still has stalls open, and a folder of paperwork that may or may not be current.

The tools that exist for route planning were built for truck drivers or RV travelers, not for someone hauling a living, temperature-sensitive load with specific overnight needs, a trailer that overhangs most GPS height assumptions, and a health certificate that expires in 30 days.

Equitrip is the tool that should have existed already.

The problem horse haulers actually have

Finding a safe overnight stop

Not a hotel with a tie post out back: a real barn with stalls, water, and someone who knows horses. These are hard to find from the road, and the information is scattered across Facebook, old directories, and word of mouth.

Routing a rig that isn't a car

Consumer GPS apps route for passenger vehicles. A truck and a 28-foot trailer cannot take every route Google suggests. Height restrictions, bridge weight limits, and tight curves matter when you can't just back up.

Managing the paperwork

Coggins tests, health certificates, and brand inspections vary by state and expire at different intervals. Losing track of which document is current, or leaving it at home, creates real problems at state lines and facilities.

What Equitrip does

Truck-aware route planning

Routes are calculated for truck-and-trailer rigs, taking into account vehicle dimensions, weight, and the roads that are actually safe for large combinations. No more routing yourself down a road you can't get out of.

Overnight facility directory

A growing directory of confirmed overnight barn stops across the US. Search along your route, review what facilities offer, and get contact details for listings with verified owners. Add your own stops and have them reviewed for the directory.

Large-animal vet finder

Medical facilities and large-animal veterinary practices mapped along your route, not just in cities. When something happens on the road, you should already know where to go.

Weather along every stop

Departure point, overnight stops, and destination each get weather context for your travel window. Know before you load whether the forecast at your overnight barn is going to be a problem.

Compliance document storage

Keep Coggins, health certificates, and other travel documents in your Glovebox so they're available when you need them: at a weigh station, at a state line, or when a facility asks.

Privacy-first data handling

No ad tracking, no session replay, no marketing pixels. Aggregate corridor data is anonymous and used to improve routing and facility coverage, never sold or tied to individual trips.

Who uses Equitrip

Recreational haulers

Weekend trips, vacation travel, multi-day hauls to trail destinations or family events.

Competitive haulers

Show circuits, barrel racing events, reining competitions, and the regular cross-country grind of the show calendar.

Commercial and professional haulers

Point-to-point moves, sale barn pickups, breeding farm transport, and any professional haul where a missed overnight stop costs real money.

How we handle your data

Equitrip does not use advertising trackers, session replay, or cross-site tracking. Trip data, document uploads, and horse profiles are your operational information and are stored to run the product. Nothing else. Aggregate corridor data is anonymized and used to understand equine travel patterns for routing improvements and, in aggregate form, for equine health research. You can opt out of corridor data counting in your account privacy settings. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
